Global Search


Global Search lets you quickly find pages, bookings, customers, listings, settings, and other resources from one place. Instead of browsing through menus, you can jump directly to what you need.


Whether you're looking for a renter, a listing, an email template, or a checkout setting, Global Search helps you get there in seconds.



You can open Global Search at any time while you're using the Fleetwire dashboard.


Keyboard shortcuts


  • Mac: ⌘ K
  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl + K


Or simply click the search bar in the top navigation.


Global Search



Global Search automatically searches across many areas of Fleetwire, including:


  • Bookings
  • Customers
  • Listings
  • Trip Extras
  • Checkout Settings
  • Taxes & Fees
  • Email Templates
  • Company Settings
  • Dashboard pages
  • Other supported resources


Search results continue to expand as new Fleetwire features are added.



Simply begin typing what you're looking for.


For example, you can search for:


  • A customer's name
  • A customer's email address
  • A listing name
  • A page such as "Checkout"
  • "Dark Mode"
  • "Taxes"
  • "Email Templates"


As you type, matching results appear instantly.


Use the Up and Down arrow keys to move through the results, then press Enter to open the selected item.


You don't need to type an exact name. Enter part of a customer's name, listing name, or setting, and matching results will appear as you type.


Search Permissions


Global Search only returns results you have permission to access.


For example, if a staff member cannot manage company settings, those settings won't appear in their search results.


Tips


  • Use keyboard shortcuts to save time throughout the day.
  • Search by partial words. You don't need to type the full name.
  • Search works best when you know part of a customer's name, listing name, or page title.
  • Results update instantly as you type.
  • Press Esc to close Global Search without selecting a result.


Pro Tip


Keep your hands on the keyboard. Press ⌘ K (Mac) or Ctrl + K (Windows/Linux), type what you're looking for, and press Enter to navigate without using your mouse.


Frequently Asked Questions


Why can't I find something?


There are a few possible reasons:


  • You don't have permission to view that resource.
  • The item has been deleted.
  • The item isn't currently searchable.
  • Your search term doesn't match the item's name.


Try using a shorter or more general search term.


Does Global Search search everything?


Global Search covers many of the most commonly used areas of Fleetwire and continues to expand with each release.


Does it work on mobile?


Global Search is currently available in the Fleetwire dashboard. Mobile support may vary depending on your device and browser.


Why don't I see every setting?


Search only indexes supported pages and resources. New searchable items are added regularly as Fleetwire evolves.
