🛠How to Set Up Email Forwarding in Gmail
Follow these steps to forward car-sharing emails to Fleetwire using your Gmail account. We’ll set up a forwarding address and a filter to ensure only relevant emails are sent.
Step 1: Access Your Fleetwire Email Proxy
Fleetwire provides a unique email proxy for your company to receive car-sharing emails.
In your Fleetwire dashboard, go to Connections.
Look for the Email Proxy field in the Turo connection settings—it’s a unique email address for your company.
Copy this email address; you’ll need it for forwarding.

Pro Tip: Keep this email proxy handy—you’ll use it to set up forwarding in Gmail.
Step 2: Add the Forwarding Address in Gmail
Set up Gmail to forward emails to your Fleetwire email proxy.
Open Gmail and click the Settings cog icon in the top-right corner, then select See all settings.

Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, then click Add a forwarding address.

Paste your Fleetwire email proxy into the field and click Next.

Gmail will send a confirmation email to Fleetwire. Check your Fleetwire dashboard for the confirmation code, or look for the code in your Gmail inbox (including the spam folder). Enter the code to verify.

Quick Tip: If you don’t see the confirmation email, ensure your email proxy is correct and check your spam folder.
Step 3: Create a Filter for Car-Sharing Emails
Set up a filter in Gmail to forward only car-sharing emails (e.g., from Turo, Getaround, or Ryde) to Fleetwire.
In Gmail, go back to Settings and select the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab, then click Create a new filter.

In the From field, enter @turo OR @getaround OR @ryde to capture emails from these platforms. If you only use Turo, you can just enter @turo.

Click Create filter, then check the box to Forward it to your Fleetwire email proxy. Click Create filter to save.

Warning: If you use an ad-blocker, you may encounter errors in Gmail. Temporarily disable your ad-blocker while setting up email forwarding to avoid issues.
Step 4: Test Your Forwarding Setup
Ensure emails are being forwarded correctly to Fleetwire.
Send a test email from a car-sharing platform (e.g., Turo) or simulate one by sending an email from a @turo address to your Gmail.
