Connect Stripe Identity to Fleetwire

Fleetwire integrates with Stripe Identity, a powerful tool that helps you verify customer identities programmatically — improving trust, reducing fraud, and keeping your business secure.

To enable this integration, Stripe requires a restricted API key with specific permissions. Don’t worry — setup only takes a few minutes. Follow the steps below.

✅ Before You Begin

Make sure Stripe Identity is enabled on your account. You should be able to manually create a verification session in your Stripe Dashboard.

Some setup options won’t appear unless Stripe Identity is fully enabled, so ensure it’s active before continuing.

🔐 Step-by-Step: Create a Restricted API Key

Go to your Stripe API Keys page.

Click Create restricted key.

Name the key something like: Fleetwire ID Key.

Under the All core resources section:

Set Files to Write

Scroll to the Identity section:

Set Verification Sessions and Reports to Write

Click Create key
Copy the new key (it should start with rk_live_) and paste it into the Stripe Integration Settings in Fleetwire:

Click Save — Fleetwire will encrypt and store it securely.

🔒 Add an IP Whitelist

In Stripe, open the menu (three dots) next to the new key and select Manage IP restrictions.
Add this IP address:

138.68.28.176

Click Add IP address, then Save. You can leave the CIDR toggle off.

If “Manage IP restrictions” isn’t available, ensure Stripe Identity is enabled and that you’ve created at least one verification session.

⚙️ Final Permission Tweaks

Open the menu again and choose Edit.

Set Access recent detailed verification results to None

Set Access all detailed verification results to Read

🎉 You’re Done

Fleetwire can now create Stripe Identity sessions on your behalf, pull back verification reports, and display results within your reservations and customer profiles.
