Setting up your operating hours

Operating hours can be found here.

Default pickup time

When customers land on your listing's checkout page, they'll find the pickup time already set by default. This nifty feature removes the hassle of having to manually pick the pickup time, making the checkout process super smooth. You've got the freedom to decide what specific time you want to show as the default for your customers. This way, they can breeze through checkout without worrying about choosing the pickup time themselves. Offering this default pickup time not only improves the user experience but also reduces any potential friction during the booking journey.

Enable Operating Hours

With the "Enable Operating Hours" feature, you're in control of when pickups and returns can happen for your fleet. This means you can align reservations with specific hours that work best for you. For instance, if you want to wrap up a bit earlier on weekends, just set your operating hours from 8 am to 3 pm. This way, any weekend bookings will need to fit within these timeframes. This cool tool gives you more say over when your fleet is available and lets you manage your resources smartly. By nailing down your operating hours, you're making sure that customer bookings roll in during the times that suit you, creating a super smooth and efficient experience for you and your customers alike.

Prioritizing Your Operating Hours for Ultimate Flexibility

Here's the scoop on how operating hours work: We've got a priority system that's all about making things easy for you. First up, specific days take the top spot. Then we've got "weekends" and "weekdays" in line. And last but not least, there's the "everyday" rule.

Let's break it down with an example: You've set up operating hours for every day from 8 am to 5 pm. Plus, you've got another rule for weekends, focusing on 10 am to 2 pm. On top of that, you've got a special Sunday rule from 10 am to noon.

Now, if someone chooses Friday 1 pm to Saturday 1 pm, no worries—that fits perfectly. But here's the catch: if they go for Saturday 1 pm to Sunday 1 pm, that won't fly. Why? Because you've reserved that Sunday morning slot from 10 am to noon.

So, with this clever system, you've got the power to fine-tune your operating hours for specific days, weekends, weekdays, and all the days in between. It's like having your own scheduling wizard, making sure everything runs just the way you want it.

Note: Most people create simple rules like 8am - 5pm everyday; or 8am - 5pm weekdays & 9 am - 4pm weekends. You are welcome to custom to your liking.

Prevent Last-Minute Bookings

For a seamless vehicle preparation process and to steer clear of last-minute rushes, consider introducing a minimum notice requirement for bookings. This practical function ensures that customers are unable to make reservations within a designated time frame just before their intended pickup time. By instituting a buffer period, typically around 2 hours, you grant yourself ample time to get the vehicle ready and tend to any necessary tasks prior to the scheduled pickup.

The adoption of a minimum notice policy empowers you to orchestrate your operations more effectively and uphold a steady workflow. This strategy eliminates scenarios where customers request immediate bookings, affording you the time needed to ensure the vehicle is in top-notch condition and all set for the planned pickup. In essence, this feature contributes to a more structured and efficient fleet management process, enhancing customer satisfaction by enabling you to present a well-prepared vehicle for each reservation.

Away Mode

The "Away Mode" functionality allows you to block all pickups and returns during specified date ranges. This feature is particularly useful when you or your staff are unavailable or unable to handle vehicle pickups or drop-offs. By activating the Away Mode, you can ensure that no reservations can be made within the selected date range.

It's important to note that while the Away Mode blocks pickups and returns during the specified period, it does not restrict reservations that may overlap with the blocked dates. For example, if you set an Away Mode for Monday to Wednesday of the following week, and a customer wants to make a reservation starting from now and extending two weeks, the system will accept the reservation.

The purpose of this feature is to prevent any new pickups or returns from occurring within the designated away period, while still accommodating existing reservations that may overlap with those dates.

By utilizing the Away Mode, you can effectively manage your fleet's availability and ensure that customers are aware of any temporary unavailability during specific date ranges. This helps maintain clear communication and prevents any inconvenience or confusion related to pickups and returns while you or your staff are away.
