Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Fleetwire

🔐 Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Fleetwire!

Your Fleetwire account holds your bookings, payments, and customer data — so keeping it secure matters. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step at login (usually a code from your phone), so even if someone has your password, they can’t get in without your device. Here’s how to turn on 2FA and keep your account locked down!

🎯 Why Use Two-Factor Authentication?

Enabling 2FA helps you:

  • Block Unauthorized Access: A stolen or guessed password isn’t enough without your second factor.
  • Protect Customer Data: Reduce the risk of breaches that could expose renter and payment info.
  • Meet Best Practices: Many insurers and partners expect 2FA for business accounts.

Note: 2FA is optional but strongly recommended for account owners and anyone with access to billing or sensitive settings.

🛠 Step-by-Step: Enable 2FA

Follow these steps to turn on two-factor authentication in Fleetwire.

Step 1: Open Security Settings

  1. In your Fleetwire dashboard, click Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Under Security, select Security (or the main security page).
  3. Find the Two-factor authentication or 2FA section.

Step 2: Turn On 2FA and Use an Authenticator App

  1. Click Enable two-factor authentication (or similar).
  2. You’ll see a QR code and a secret key (manual entry code).
  3. Open an authenticator app on your phone (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password).
  4. Scan the QR code or enter the secret key to add Fleetwire to the app.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app into Fleetwire.
  6. Click Verify or Enable to complete setup.

Pro Tip: Save the secret key or backup codes in a secure place (e.g., password manager) so you can recover access if you lose your phone.

Step 3: Log In With 2FA

  1. The next time you log in, enter your email and password as usual.
  2. When prompted, enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
  3. Click Verify to finish logging in.

Warning: If you lose access to your authenticator app and don’t have backup codes, you may need to contact support to regain access. Store backup codes safely when you set up 2FA.

🌟 2FA Enabled, Account Secured!
