🔧 Tracking Vehicle Maintenance

Keep every car's registration, insurance and service history in one place, and get reminded before something is due, by date or by mileage.

Where to Find It

Open a listing and go to its Maintenance tab. You'll see:

• Registration, Insurance and Next service cards at the top.
• A Records table with Type, Task, Due, Status, Completed and Cost, sorted by what's due soonest.
• Recalls at the bottom, listing any open manufacturer recalls for the car.

Registration and Insurance

1. On the Registration card, click Set up.
2. Enter Expires on.
3. Under Remind me, pick 30 days before, 60 days before or 90 days before. The dialog shows the exact date the reminder will go out.
4. Save.

When you renew, click Mark renewed. Fleetwire starts next year's record and reminder for you.

The card's status reads Current, Expires soon (within 30 days) or Expired. Insurance works the same way.

Services and Repairs

1. Click Add record and choose Maintenance or Repair.
2. Pick a Task (Oil Change, Tire Replacement, …).
3. Fill in Completed on (optional), Odometer and Cost.
4. For a Maintenance record, choose a Reminder:
5. • None: no reminder. New records start here.
   • On a date: set Remind me on.
   • At a mileage: set Remind me at, e.g. 45,000 mi.

Repair records don't take a reminder.

Repeat by mileage

For services like oil changes, fill in Repeat every (optional), e.g. 5,000 mi. The record shows "Every 5,000 mi".

When you click Mark done, Fleetwire asks for the odometer (pre-filled with the car's current reading) and schedules the next one at that reading plus the interval. The dialog tells you where it will land, for example "The next one will be due at 50,000 mi."

How mileage reminders count down

Mileage reminders show the target ("at 45,000 mi") and an estimate based on how far the car has been driving lately, such as "in about 1,200 mi, roughly 9 days". Once the car passes the target, the record shows as due now.

The Next service card shows the car's odometer and about how many miles a day it drives.

Where the Odometer Comes From

Mileage reminders follow the car's odometer, so they go out when the car actually reaches the mileage, not on a guessed date.

• Bouncie: the odometer updates after every trip (paid plans).
• Tesla: kept current from the car.
• Everything else: updates from the odometer recorded at pickup and return.

Check Engine Light (Bouncie)

If a car with a Bouncie device turns on its check engine light, Fleetwire opens a Repair record called "Check Engine Light" with the trouble codes and the odometer.

A red banner appears at the top of the Maintenance tab with Mark repaired and View record, and the record's status reads Light on. When the light goes off, the record closes on its own.

Reminders

Reminders arrive by email and/or text. Mileage reminders say what's due and at what mileage, e.g. "due at 45,000 mi".

To choose who gets them and how, click Reminder settings on the Maintenance tab, or go to Settings > Messages > Notifications.
