Driving Reports for Rentals (Bouncie)

🚗 Driving Reports for Rentals

When a car with a Bouncie device comes back, you shouldn't have to guess how it was driven. Every order for a Bouncie-linked car has a Driving report that shows the trips taken during the rental: how far, how long, how fast, and how hard it was braked and accelerated.

🎯 What the Driving Report Shows

The Driving report card is on the order page, titled "Trips Bouncie recorded during this rental". At the top:

  • Distance: Total distance driven, with the number of trips under it.
  • Driving time: Total time on the road, with time spent idling under it.
  • Top speed: The fastest the car went. It's marked Fast at 90 mph (145 km/h) or more.
  • Hard braking: How many hard stops Bouncie detected, also shown per 100 mi (or km).
  • Hard acceleration: How many hard launches Bouncie detected, also shown per 100 mi (or km).

Below that, a trip list shows each trip's Trip started time, Distance, Top speed, Hard braking and Hard acceleration. The first 5 trips show; click Show all (for example, Show all 12 trips) to see the rest.

Pro Tip: The per-100 figures let you compare a weekend rental with a month-long one. Ten hard stops in 50 miles is a very different story from ten in 2,000.

🛠 Getting a Driving Report

The card only appears on orders for a car linked to a Bouncie device. If you haven't set that up, follow Connect Bouncie to Fleetwire: connect your Bouncie account, then link each car to its listing under Connections → Bouncie → Vehicles.

Note: Driving reports need an active paid plan and a Bouncie device plugged into the car.

Step 2: Open the Order

Open any order for a linked car and scroll to Driving report. There's nothing to turn on. Trips appear as the car is driven, so you can check on a rental while it's still out.

  • The report counts trips that started between the booking's pickup and return times.
  • If there are no trips yet, the card says so. They show up as the car is driven.
  • Distances and speeds are in miles and mph, or kilometers and km/h if your company uses kilometers.

Note: Reports cover trips from October 14, 2026 onward. Rentals before that won't have trips.

💡 When It Helps

  • Damage or wear disputes: Hard braking, hard acceleration and top speed back up what you found at return.
  • Deposit decisions: A clear record of how the car was driven makes it easier to explain a deduction, or to release a deposit with confidence.
  • Mileage questions: The total distance and trip list show where the miles came from.

Quick Tip: A Fast flag or a high hard-braking count isn't proof on its own. Use it together with your pickup and return photos and the odometer readings.

🔧 Troubleshooting

  • No Driving report card on the order: The booked listing isn't linked to a Bouncie device. Link it under Connections → Bouncie → Vehicles.
  • "No trips recorded during this rental yet": The car hasn't been driven since pickup, or the device is unplugged or offline. Trips taken before the booking's pickup time aren't counted.
  • "Couldn't load the driving report": Click Try again. If it keeps happening, contact us.
